INP (Interaction to Next Paint)
Time until the page paints in response to a user interaction.
In depth
INP replaced FID in March 2024 as the responsiveness metric. Good: < 200ms. Needs improvement: 200–500ms. Poor: > 500ms. Common causes of high INP: long-running JS, heavy event handlers, layout thrashing.
