The real cost of a bad CMS choice
We've migrated 40+ sites off WordPress, Wix, and Webflow. The pattern is consistent.
Bad CMS picks cost more than agencies admit. Wix and Squarespace are fine for brochureware. Webflow is fine until you need server-side rendering for a content-heavy site. WordPress is fine until plugin sprawl kills performance.
We've moved 40+ sites onto Next.js + a headless CMS. The migration cost is usually £6k–£20k. The annual saving in plugin licences + page-speed remediation often exceeds that within 12 months.
The right CMS pick is the one that doesn't show up on the next year's roadmap as 'replatform'.
