How we work.

Webflow wins when: site under 100 pages, marketers need real design control, you don't want plugin maintenance tax, you want fast load by default, and you can pay Webflow's hosting fee (£19–£29/mo). Most London SME marketing sites fit Webflow well. We've shipped 80+ Webflow builds since 2019 across Shoreditch (EC2A), Soho (W1), Mayfair (W1J), Camden (NW1).

WordPress wins when: you have an in-house WordPress dev team, you need an obscure plugin only available on WordPress, the budget is <£1k and you genuinely cannot afford Webflow hosting, multilingual content management is heavy. WordPress's economic moat is the plugin ecosystem — if you need WooCommerce-deep e-commerce, ACF-style content modelling, or LMS plugins, WordPress is hard to beat for cost.

Neither wins when: you need full e-commerce (Shopify), enterprise content modelling (Sanity / Strapi headless + Next.js), or programmatic SEO at scale (Next.js with custom CMS). For founders raising at >£5m valuation, Next.js + headless CMS is often the right call. We build all four stacks — we'll recommend honestly based on your needs.

Frequently asked.

Webflow includes hosting, CDN, SSL, backups, security, and the design tool itself in one fee. WordPress hosting is cheaper (£5–£30/mo) but you pay for plugins, security, backups, performance optimisation, and developer time separately. Total cost of ownership often higher on WordPress for marketing sites.
Yes — CMS editor is genuinely usable by non-technical staff. WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) is also good now but requires more training. Webflow's design-tool side does need a designer; CMS publishing side is marketer-friendly.
Webflow CMS limit is 10,000 items per collection on highest tier. Below that, no scaling issues. Above it, you replatform to headless (Sanity + Next.js) or split content across collections. We've built >1000-page programmatic SEO sites on Webflow without issue.
WooCommerce is fine below ~£500k revenue. Above that, Shopify is more reliable and cheaper to maintain. Headless commerce (Shopify Hydrogen + custom front-end) is right for premium brands above £5m revenue.
Free 30-min decision call — we walk through your requirements and recommend honestly. We build both Webflow and WordPress, so we have no vendor bias. Call doesn't lock you in.
